4/5 Dreadnaught End
for 10'6" IH AAR Box Cars
In 1939, Pressed Steel Car Company began building the first of four orders of 10'4" IH box cars for
the D&RGW that by 1942 would total 1,900 cars. While most cars of this height and era
utilized Standard Railway Equipment Company's 5/5 Dreadnaught end, these cars were unsual in that they
used a 4/5 Dreadnaught end, which pattern was more commonly used on 10' IH cars. SRCC will
