Shortly after WWII, Standard Railway Equipment Manufacturing Company developed a new version of their
Youngstown door. It featured a raised, riveted seam between each of the three panels and a
single door lever centered at the bottom. The associated starting mechanism was located
internally. This polyurethane casting represents a 6 foot wide door with with 5/5/4
corrugations, first installed in 1946, and used on cars with 10’6” IH. Roads that used this
style door include: A&WP, ATSF, CIL, GM&O, GOC, ITC, L&N, NC&StL, NS, UP, and WofA. SRCC
